Dr. Wilson is known for translating abstract concepts into relatable language and practical tools for clients. Her dedication and passion for making evidence-based mental health information accessible to all is demonstrated through her numerous free videos and worksheets (see here).

Dr. Wilson’s commitment to creating a global culture of mental health is highlighted by her approach. She goes beyond sharing knowledge, she helps clients ACT on what they learn by offering unparalleled services post-intervention (workshop, coaching or assessment) to ensure optimal opportunities for integration and application of what they learned.

Dr. Wilson’s years of medical training and clinical experience, her Masters in adult education, and certification in Conflict Resolution uniquely position her to assess and communicate in accessible and practical ways to empower clinicians and organizations.

DR. RYAN WILSON

Registered Psychologist

krw.webp

I am a registered psychologist in Halifax, NS working in private practice as part of the Inspired Living Medical team.

EDUCATION

I completed my PhD in Clinical Psychology at Dalhousie University. When I began my training, my clinical and research interests focused in Neuropsychology - assessing and treating attention, memory and decision making difficulties that are often a result of brain injuries such as stroke, head trauma, or diseases such as Alzheimer's.

PASSION

I was always struck by how much people's thinking abilities were affected by their emotional state. I looked for opportunities learn how emotions and thinking abilities interact. As a result I spent several years working in the Center for Emotions and Health and the Medically Unexplained Symptoms Clinic at the Halifax Infirmary. It was in this setting that my passion for talk therapy took hold, and I have developed expertise in a wide range of therapy models to help treat thinking, feeling, and physical symptoms experienced by teens and adults.

BELIEF

I have come to believe that our most difficult and most important journey is the one one that requires us to look inward so that we can uncover and understand our conscious and unconscious processes. No matter where we start, when we choose to take this journey we give ourselves the chance to be free of our symptoms, get connected with those that matter, and excel personally and professionally.

At the end of the day, the point of therapy is to help you TAKE ACTION NOW!

Your vision will become clear only when you can look into your own heart. Who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside, awakes.
